Get Inspired! Three Shows to Help You Start Organizing

Whether you’re moving into a new home, planning a renovation or deciding you have to do something after spending almost a year stuck inside your messy house, finding the right kind of organizational tools for your own, unique home can be challenging, but fun. From installing closet organizers to redoing pantries to creating build-ins, TruBlue can help with all kinds of organizational projects (https://trubluestaging.wpengine.com/services/handyman-services/), but it helps start with your own inspiration.

Here are the three shows that inspire us the most when it comes to ways to organizing with more than cube storage, junk drawers and under-bed boxes:

Get Organized with The Home Edit (Netflix): On this show, expert home organizers Clea and Joanna help clients – from celebrities to the girl next door – edit, categorize and contain their clutter to create stunning spaces. This show does a great job of finding ways to weight the personal value of our things with our available space and the design we want for our homes. Sure, you can always hang shelves on every wall for boxes… but should you? Probably not.

Bea Organized (Amazon Prime): This one follows Beatrice Copeland, a writer, director and personal organizer, as she meets clients and helps them tackle their space and organizational issues. In each episode, she meets a new client (or group of clients) with unique challenges and, typically, not a lot of space or money to make improvements. How can a chef organize his personal kitchen? How can a one-bathroom house accommodate three adults? What can a beauty blogger do to make her space more functional? This show has a little something for everyone.

Dream Home Makeover (Netflix): While Dream Home Makeover is focused on completely recreating spaces – whether you have $20,000 or $2 million to work with – many of their projects have organizational and storage elements you can build into your own home for even a couple hundred bucks. They do a great job of expanding cabinet spaces, adding built-ins, working with shelves and finding ways to maximize closets.

These shows are more focused on ways to design your home to help you store and organize your home. If you are looking for shows that talk about ways to incorporate minimalism into your life, downsize or even get into the science of why a cleaner home can help improve your mental health, that’s a whole other list of great shows, including Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, Happy, Mission Organization or even Clean House.

If you’re ready to jump into a project – large or small – that can help you organize your home and store everything from family photos to rolls of tape in a way that works for your life, your home and your family, it’s time to talk to your local TruBlue.
